Softwood pulp that comes from northern countries like Finland, Sweden and Canada can be considered as northern softwood pulp. Our softwood pulp is produced in our Finnish mills in Kymi, Kaukas and Pietarsaari.
Our softwood pulp mills are located in Finland
We produce softwood pulp in three mills: Kymi, Kaukas and Pietarsaari. UPM Conifer grade is produced in all three mills, whereas UPM Conifer Thin we produce only at the Pietarsaari mill.
What end-products is softwood pulp best for?
Softwood pulp fibres are longer than hardwood pulp fibres. The length and slenderness of the fibres provides strength and durability. Softwood pulp is suitable for various end products, such as tissue, board, specialty papers and printing and writing papers.
